About Durdana
Durdana has nearly four decades of experience and a passion for sharing her knowledge. After a decade spent in the corporate world, she made the transition into the education sector. As a faculty member at Higher Colleges of Technology, Dubai Men’s campus, she also founded FTC@DMC at HCT.
Durdana has lived in the UAE for over three decades and has taught and worked with Emiratis for the last 18 years. She is acutely aware of the challenges faced by public and private sectors in Emiratization initiatives and programs, as well as the issues faced by young Emiratis in finding appropriate jobs. By developing close mentoring relationships with each of her students, Durdana is able to consistently help them learn challenging concepts and take steps towards success.
She founded DSR—the Learning Majlis—with the intention of providing her students with a nurturing environment and where teaching and learning takes place in a social and collaborative way and where relationships are cultivated to foster a life-long love of learning.
About Zafar
Zafar Rizvi is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant from a Big-4 firm in the UK, with extensive experience in senior financial leadership roles.
He trains students for the ICAEW Professional and Advanced Level exams using an exam focused teaching technique that helps his students gain confidence early in the course and enjoy high pass rates, compared to the ICAEW global pass rates. Zafar enjoys tutoring and mentoring students and continuously strives to improve his knowledge and teaching techniques.
Several of his students have achieved the highest marks in the session, in the Middle East. Zafar Rizvi received ICAEW Chartered Accountant of the Year award at ICAEW Middle East Accountancy and Finance Awards 2015.

About Azam
Azam is director of the ICAEW-CFAB program at DSR. He was the lead instructor for the PAQT/EFP program, a joint initiative launched in 2019 by the Human Resources Authority and ADGM Academy. To date, 29 Emirati students have earned the ACCA diploma through the program.
Azam teaches ICAEW ACA courses at DSR and to corporate clients, including EmiratesNBD. His practice areas include Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, and Taxation.
Azam is a graduate of Brown University (’01) in Providence, RI, USA. He attended the American Community School in Abu Dhabi.
About Chris
Chris has over 30 years of experience delivering Professional programs to both public and private sector organizations as well as delivering courses for the ACCA and CIMA professional bodies. He specializes in Strategic Management Accounting and Financial Management and Corporate Governance for Board Members. For many years, Chris has been delivering Professional Qualification training and Corporate Training in the UK, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Middle East.
Chris established his own college in 1990 which became part of FTC in 1996 (now Kaplan Financial) where he became the Midlands Region Managing Director (2000 to 2006). Additionally, Chris wrote the ACCA’s Business Management and Strategic Planning (BMSP) syllabus for the ACCA and implemented on-line training for CIMA students studying in Asia-Pacific and Ireland. Chris is a member of the ICAEW’s Emirati Advisory Board (EAB) in the UAE and an Educational Board Member of the Association of Corporate Governance Practitioners.
About Nic
Nic is a Chartered Accountant with ICAEW, who qualified with PwC in the UK. She has both excellent pass rates and feedback from her students. She brings the subjects she teaches to life from her vast wealth of experience in practice and in industry. Nic has lived and worked in the UK, Australia, and the UAE. Additionally, she has held a variety of roles up to and including CEO, as well as being the Financial Director of a large American publicly listed company before the age of 30.
Nic was the first tutor in the Middle East to teach ICAEW. Over the past 15 years, she has taught ICAEW, CFAB, ACCA, CPA, CIMA and IIA. Additionally, she has taught a number of prize winners in various papers, including the only student worldwide to ever achieve 100% in English Law.
Within the ICAEW Syllabus, Nic teaches Assurance, Law and Audit and Assurance, and in prior years she has also taught Business Technology and Finance, Business Planning and Business Strategy and Technology.
